Y' know, there are incredible treasures right out here in this little Wisconsin whistle stop called Springfield (technically where we're located). For example, one block away, we have Philly's Pasta Bowl; a most delightful Italian Restaurant, open 7 nights per week all year long (summer months, lunch too). The owner's name is Philly (of course) and he's an extremely talented chef. He also offers excellent American cuisine, by the way. For reservations: 262-249-7640.
And just up the hill, north, then east on Hospital Road, you'll discover another treasure: Northwind Perrenial Farm. It's tucked away in a quiet country setting which was once a traditional Wisconsin farm with a big red barn and about six outbuildings, some of which have been transformed into enticing gift shops. While wandering through their storybook gardens, you might notice their chickens and goats. Magazine and newspaper articles about Northwind are far too numerous to mention here. Owners are Colleen and Steve Garrigan and Roy Diblick. Their phone number is 262-248-8229.
Our newest little business is Soaring Eagle, owned by Jane Steckling. It's located on Highway 36 just around the corner from the B&B on the way to Philly's. They offer authentic American Indian Jewelry, art, handmade metal work, t-shirts, pottery and music for those of you who are attracted to USA heritage. Jane has provided a lovely, warm space in which to peruse Native art. Email is soarnegl@ticon.net and the phone is 262-248-0449.
Oh, we also have our very own post office here!!! Y' know, there are incredible treasures right out here in this little Wisconsin whistle stop called Springfield (technically where we're located). Right next door to Philly's is Siciliano's Italian Bakery and Deli, also owned by, you guessed it, Philly (There's no stopping him!).
Several blocks north we have Springfield Antique Center, consisting of a wide range of architectural antiques. Destin Lunde is the proprietor, and quite a character indeed. Basically, he's open when he feels like it, but more often during the summer months than winter...

Rita Catona has an adorable little shop in one of her outbuildings just up Highway 120 about two blocks from us. She is a wood-carver and her shop is called, "Faces in the Woods." She is not open in the winter, as her shop does not have heat, but she's open weekends during warmer weather.
Our newest business, which opens October, 1999, is "Pray for More Stuff." Owners are Kim Richardson and her mom. Kim is a former innkeeper and a true visionary. They have completely renovated one of Springfield's oldest buildings; a Presbyterian church, which dates back to the mid 1800's. Their shop will be located in the basement of the church and their inventory will be a blend of garden and home accessories, and antiques.
Oh, we also have our very own post office here. Originally, it was housed in what was once the Springfield Hotel. But last year, a new post office was constructed (the teeniest one I've ever seen) on the corner of Hwy 120 & 36. Many Lake Geneva residents come out here to us it cuz it's so cute and quaint, and Kathy, our friendly post mistress is absolutely delightful -- not to mention, helpful.
So as you can see, Springfield has it's own charm, which compliments the razzle dazzle of Lake Geneva quite nicely, we believe. So come visit; we think you'll like it here...
