Singing Wolf Center was founded in 1990 by cultural pioneer,
Kristi Cowles. Since that time, we have hosted hundreds of "leading-edge-of-change"
workshops featuring erudite educators who consistently lead powerful, experiential
seminars. Singing Wolf is rooted in deep ecological principles, hence
sustainability and peace making are present in everything we do.
Moving from a dominator culture to a partnership or compassionate culture
is without question, one of our primary visions. Therefore, the art of healing
ourselves, our relationships, communities, countries, and our fragile planet are
very present in all activities held at our Center.
Every year from
September through May, Singing Wolf Center offer workshops focusing on subjects
such as creativity, shamanism, personal mythology, contemporary paganism, the
American Indian Medicine Wheel, Nordic Runes, various forms of bodywork, deep
listening, culture making, and health (from personal to planetary) -- to mention
just a few. As is noticeable, we welcome diversity. The Center itself holds
up to 20 people, which is ideal for smaller, intimate workshops. Larger workshops
are held at other nearby facilities, one of which can accommodate up to 100
people. Hence, our events frequently vary in size. So on that note, you are
invited to further explore our website, and thanks for stopping by.
Singing Wolf Center is dedicated
to providing well-grounded, leading-edge-of-change workshops and classes that
encourage self-renewal, sustainability, compassion, cooperation, personal
empowerment, creativity, harmony, and especially -- respect, and reverence
for all inhabitants of the Earth. This includes:
- Mythological teachings that honor ancient
truths and perennial wisdom
- Self-healing through the manifestation
of creativity and intuition.
- Respect for and practice of diverse
forms of spirituality that embrace Earth-care.
- Accountability for the health of ourselves
as well as the health of the environment.
- Professional, competent workshop presenters
who provide practical healing tools, who possess the awareness that real
healing is an individual responsibility.
- Create a partnership society, devoid
of authoritarianism and domination by any specific group or system.
- Live simply, using the least amount
of resources possible
- Respect each other, as well as all of
nature
- Embrace diversity
- Live peacefully; eliminating violence
in all its forms
- Reestablish natural childbirth, breast-feeding
of infants, and high-touch parenting
- Preserve nature by not chopping down
any more trees
- Heal our personal wounds, transforming
that energy into creative endeavors
Singing Wolf Center's purpose
is to:
- Provide a safe, nurturing, supportive
atmosphere so that people will feel inspired to move toward balance, harmony,
optimum health, productivity and creativity.
- Create an awareness of our cultural
conditioning and it's bearing on our growth process and self-acceptance.
- Provide tools for "becoming accountable"
for our own lives and moving from surviving to thriving
Singing Wolf Center, along
with Pederson Victorian Bed & Breakfast, was established in 1990 by its
founder, Kristi Cowles. Since then, many workshop presenters and erudite teachers
have traveled to teach here, and some have websites of their own:
All of the above mentioned
are well-known authors and talented presenters.
For descriptions of workshops
at Singing Wolf, you can browse our page of Past

and Workshop Calendar.
Workshops can range from a
one day event, to weekly classes, to an entire weekend. Smaller events are
held at Singing Wolf Center and the large events are held at Michael Fields
Institute, an beautiful facility located on the outskirts of East Troy, Wisconsin
(ten miles north).
Our mailing list is kept small
so as not to waste paper. If you wish to receive the seasonal workshop flyers,
please notify us. Your name will
remain on the Singing Wolf mailing list as long as you attend at least one
event per year.
