The Home: A Treasure.
Pederson Victorian Bed & Breakfast is located three miles north of Lake Geneva
-- just far enough away from the hustle and bustle -- in a quaint little Wisconsin
hamlet, called Springfield. Here, where you would hardly expect to find it, stands
this tall, magnificent, enchanting, and intriguing 1880 home which has "turned
the heads of passersby" for many years. Connoisseurs of Victorians will treasure
the white gingerbread trim, lovely porches, stained glass windows, stenciled woodwork,
original hanging lights, tall ceilings and windows, cozy parlor, antique furnishings,
and the lovely, formal dining room where full, delicious vegetarian breakfasts
are served every morning.
The Tone: Distinctive
This is one "hip" B&B, indeed! Where else will you find Victorian charm and elegance blended with today's
earth-care sophistication? Since 1990, guests have been breathing in the fresh-air fragrance of line-dried linens
(even in winter); and enjoying the tasty, vegetarian breakfasts; organic coffees and teas; gentle, natural shampoos,
soaps and lotions; stimulating books; crisp cotton sheets; Scandinavian warmth, AND the absence of noisy
televisions, telephones and whirlpools in guest rooms! How "udderly" refreshing!
Guest Rooms: A Pleasure.
There are four lovely guest rooms, three of which are upstairs (up in the trees, so to speak) and one on the main
floor, just off the dining room. All rooms are air-conditioned (as is the whole B&B) and creatively furnished with
lush colors and antiques from various periods. The handmade quilt spreads have been designed and created by
Midwestern artisans, and the underneath, old-fashioned patchwork quilts are all made by the innkeeper's mother.
Guest rooms are lovingly named after her grandmothers and great-grandmothers.

The Hega Johnson Room and the Anna Serena Hanson bedrooms share one very large bathroom (originally the fourth bedroom), which has become well-known for its uniqueness and charm. It features an awesome claw-foot bathtub smack-dab in the center of the room; several antique dressers, one of which houses the sink; thriving green plants; and REAL, natural bath-products (including sooooothing mineral salts -- great for gently washing away aching muscles).
Breakfasts: Impressive.
The enticing aroma of freshly ground organic coffee tends to wend its way up the stairs every morning. Breakfast
begins with fresh-baked whole grain muffins or sweetbreads, individual fruit dishes, and juices, coffee, tea. Entrees
include Kristi's famous "Breakfast Corn Bake," with various pancakes or French Toast. Or her quiches and baked
egg dishes accompanied by hot breads. Breakfasts are as organic as possible, given the season. And by the way,
folks, you will NEVER find a store-bought egg around here! Nope. Eggs are from free-grazing, local chickens.
That's one reason why everything tastes so good. There are other reasons, such as: honey from local bees, maple
syrup from Hanke's trees, organic sourdough breads from Nokomis Farms . . . get the idea? Yup, we go the
extra mile . . .
Area Attractions: A Gift.
The Geneva Lakes area of Wisconsin offers a full spectrum of diverse adventure. High ridges, rolling hills, and
deep valleys accenting many lakes are a gift from the glacier that moved through our beautiful state some 10,000
years ago. Every season has its unique wonder -- including winter! Activities include:
